Anita Rowland, 1956-2007

From Anita's husband, Jack Bell:

At 4:40 PM Monday, December 10, 2007, my wife, Anita Marie Rowland, passed away in Seattle at the age of 51 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her two sisters, Martha and Betsy Rowland, and by myself.

Welcome to the Livejournal for the Anita Rowland Medical Fund. Anita is a popular Seattle area blogger and science fiction fan who has touched the lives of many in both communities and beyond. She organizes the Seattle's East Side Weblog Meetup and helps run Seattle area science fiction conventions.

Friends of Anita are banding together because she is battling ovarian cancer. The treatments are expensive and have been a tremendous burden on her and her husband Jack Bell. We're doing our best to help them out.
